Challenge
No mask mandate. No nightly briefing. No spike on the dashboard. Antimicrobial resistance is the pandemic no one sees coming, and it has already arrived. Drug-resistant infections killed 1.27 million people in 2019 and contributed to nearly 5 million deaths worldwide, with 39 million more lives at risk by 2050. The WHO ranks AMR among the top ten global health threats, yet most patients have never heard the term. Awareness lags. Stewardship struggles. And a slow-motion crisis keeps building, one untreatable infection at a time.
Solution
Enter BioMérieux AMR Events, a global platform putting antimicrobial resistance on center stage. The AMR Symposium gathers clinicians, microbiologists, and One Health leaders. World AMR Awareness Week carries the message from social feeds into hospital corridors. The ADLM booth makes an immersive case for diagnostic-driven stewardship. Sideline convenings at the UN High-Level Meeting push policy forward. My role was to give that mission a visual identity that scales, turning dense epidemiology into layouts a clinician can grasp in a hallway and a policymaker can act on in a meeting.
